Ski Race Coaching

Precision, Speed, & Certification

At FIL Alpin, we train the 1% who make their living on snow. Whether you are a competitive athlete hunting for hundredths of a second in the Giant Slalom or an aspiring professional preparing for the ISIA Speed Test or Technical Instructor Exams, our coaching is data-driven and razor-sharp. We combine course setting with high-frame-rate video analysis to refine your biomechanics, optimizing your line and technique to meet the rigorous standards of Swiss and EU certification boards.

Structure

1. GS Race Training

Master the discipline of speed. The foundation of all alpine racing. We focus intensively on the mechanics of the carved turn—early edge engagement, pressure distribution, and transition timing. Training takes place on closed, secured lanes with professional gate setups, allowing you to push your limits and test extreme edge angles safely.

Focus: Line tactics, carving mechanics, start technique, and course management.

2. ISIA Speed Test & CTT Prep

Beat the clock. Designed specifically for instructors needing to pass the ISIA Speed Test or CTT (ex Eurotest). This is not just about skiing well; it is about skiing fast. We focus on gliding efficiency, aerodynamics, and the specific tactical approach needed to meet the qualifying time against the pace-setter. We analyze where you are losing time—be it the flat sections or the steep—and fix it.

Focus: Gliding, aerodynamics, aggressive line choice, and race psychology.

3. Technical Instructor Exam Prep

Flawless demonstration. Passing your Level 3 or Federal Brevet requires more than speed; it requires perfection. We refine the specific technical freeskiing tasks demanded by Swiss (Swiss Snowsports), Austrian, and Slovenian systems. From precision short turns and mogul technique to dynamic variable terrain skiing, we polish your “demo form” to satisfy the examiners.

Focus: Short turns, body alignment, and coordination drills.

4. Video Analysis & Timing

Data-driven progress. Speed is found in the details. We utilize professional timing systems and high-speed video analysis to break down your run frame-by-frame. By comparing your footage with ideal models immediately after the run, we provide the visual feedback necessary to correct micro-errors in silhouette and line choice instantly.

Focus: Biomechanics, frame-by-frame review, and split-time analysis.
