Welcome to the famous St. Moritz

The Hub for Winter Sports

Twice the host of the Winter Olympics and famed for its “Champagne Climate” (over 300 days of sunshine a year), St. Moritz is the world’s most exclusive winter destination. The skiing matches the glamour, offering a tale of two mountains: the sun-drenched, south-facing slopes of Corviglia are perfect for carving wide turns before a gourmet lunch, while the north-facing Corvatsch (3,303m) offers high-alpine, sporty terrain and deep powder. For the adventurous, the nearby Diavolezza glacier offers a raw, wild experience with Switzerland’s longest glacier run. In St. Moritz, world-class skiing meets a lifestyle of polo on snow, luxury shopping, and legendary après-ski.

ENJOY THE BEST WINTER TRIP OF YOUR LIFE

Let’s find you the perfect on snow experience in St. Moritz

Why choose FIL Alpin over a traditional ski school in St. Moritz?

In a resort defined by exclusivity, your ski instruction should be nothing less than bespoke. The traditional local schools in the Engadin are massive operations with hundreds of instructors; you are often just a number in a "red army" of uniforms. FIL Alpin offers the antidote: a private, boutique service that functions more like a "Ski Concierge." We understand that a day in St. Moritz is as much about the lifestyle as it is about the sport.

Our instructors do not just teach technique; we curate your entire mountain experience. Navigating between the separate ski areas (Corviglia, Corvatsch, and Diavolezza) can be logistically complex, often requiring buses or cars. We handle these transfers seamlessly, ensuring you are on the right mountain for the current snow conditions. Crucially, we hold the keys to the social side of the mountain—securing hard-to-get reservations at legendary spots like El Paradiso, CheCha, or Langosteria, so you spend your time enjoying the "Champagne Climate," not waiting for a table.

What is the minimum age my child can start skiing and/or snowboarding?

We love welcoming young adventurers!

Mini Skiers: We support little ones from as young as 3 years old.

Young Snowboarders: Ready to strap in from 8 years old.

Friendly Tip: If you have a very young child, please reach out! We'd love to chat before you book so we can craft the perfect, personalized first-slope experience.

We are a family/group with mixed skiing abilities. Can we book separate instructors?

Absolutely! Whether you're a big family, multiple families or simply a group of friends with varying skill levels, we can arrange for multiple, dedicated instructors to ensure everyone gets the attention they need for an unforgettable day.

What is the difference between Corviglia and Corvatsch?

They are opposites that complement each other. Corviglia is the sunny, "glamorous" side accessible directly from St. Moritz village; it features wide, groomed World Cup runs and the best mountain restaurants. Corvatsch is the north-facing, higher-altitude mountain (3,303m). It holds snow longer, offers steeper, sportier terrain, and is the region's freeride hotspot.

Is St. Moritz suitable for beginners? Yes. While known for its steep World Cup start slopes, Corviglia has excellent, wide blue runs on the plateau that are perfect for confident beginners. Additionally, the Celerina and Zuoz areas offer quiet, family-friendly slopes away from the main crowds.

What is the Glacier Run on Diavolezza?

The descent from Diavolezza to Morteratsch is Switzerland’s longest secured glacier run (10km). It is not groomed but is marked and secured against avalanches. It flows down the Pers and Morteratsch glaciers, offering spectacular ice scenery. It is suitable for good intermediate skiers, but hiring a FIL Alpin guide is recommended to navigate the flat sections and enjoy the geological history.

Do I need a car in St. Moritz?

Not necessarily, but the ski areas are spread out. The Engadin Bus and the Rhätische Bahn (RhB) train connect all villages (St. Moritz, Silvaplana, Pontresina, Zuoz) efficiently. However, if you want total freedom to hop between Corviglia and Corvatsch, having a car or booking a private instructor with transport is very convenient.

Is the Ikon Pass valid in St. Moritz?

Yes. The Engadin St. Moritz region (including Corviglia, Corvatsch, and Diavolezza) is an Ikon Pass destination.

Access: Holders of the full Ikon Pass typically receive up to 7 days of skiing, while Ikon Base Pass holders receive up to 5 days (restrictions may apply).

How to use it: You cannot go directly to the lift. You must visit a ticket office at the base station (e.g., Signal, Celerina, or Corvatsch) and present your Ikon Pass and ID to receive a local hands-free chip card for the gates.

Where are your meeting points in Sankt Moritz?

We make it easy for you! We define the meeting point together based on what works best for your day.

We're happy to offer a complimentary "Meet & Greet" right at your hotel, or we can simply meet you directly on the slope if that’s your preference!

What languages do you speak?

Communication is key! Our international team ensures your private lesson is conducted fluently in the language you are most comfortable with. We proudly offer instruction in:

English, Italian, French, German, Swiss German, Dutch, Slovenian and Russian.
