Welcome to the charming Andermatt
The Heart of the swiss alps
The largest ski area in Central Switzerland, Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis connects 180 km of slopes across three unique villages. The arena is a study in contrasts: from the legendary, steep freeride terrain of the Gemsstock (2,961m) to the wide, sunny cruisers of Sedrun. A unique highlight is the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn, a scenic train that doubles as a ski lift, allowing you to shuttle seamlessly between the cantons as part of your ski day.

ENJOY THE BEST WINTER TRIP OF YOUR LIFE
Let’s find you the perfect on snow experience in Andermatt
Why should I book with FIL Alpin instead of a traditional ski school in Andermatt?
Andermatt is a complex resort with two distinct mountains (Gemsstock and Nätschen) facing opposite directions. Traditional ski schools often stick to one area or operate on rigid schedules. FIL Alpin private instructors offer total flexibility. We act as your logistics managers, navigating the train schedules and changing weather conditions to ensure you are always on the mountain with the best light and snow. Whether you want to freeride on the Gemsstock or cruise to Disentis for lunch, we tailor the day to your pace, not a group itinerary.
Where are your meeting points?
We make it easy for you! We define the meeting point together based on what works best for your day.
We're happy to offer a complimentary "Meet & Greet" right at your hotel, or we can simply meet you directly on the slope if that’s your preference!
We are a family/group with mixed skiing abilities. Can we book separate instructors?
Absolutely! Whether you're a big family, multiple families or simply a group of friends with varying skill levels, we can arrange for multiple, dedicated instructors to ensure everyone gets the attention they need for an unforgettable day.
Is the Ikon Pass valid in Andermatt Sedrun Disentis?
No, the Ikon Pass is NOT valid here. Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis is exclusively a partner of the Epic Pass (Vail Resorts) network. If you hold an Ikon Pass, you will need to purchase a standard lift ticket for the region. The Ikon Pass is accepted in other Swiss resorts like Zermatt and St. Moritz, but not in Andermatt.
Is the Epic Pass valid in Andermatt Sedrun Disentis?
Yes. Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis is a partner of the Vail Resorts Epic Pass. If you hold a valid Epic Pass, you have unrestricted access to the lifts and the train connection. This makes it an ideal destination for North American skiers looking to experience the Swiss Alps without purchasing an additional lift ticket.
Is Andermatt suitable for beginners or is it only for experts?
The resort offers a "Jekyll and Hyde" experience. The Gemsstock (2,961m) is famous for its steep, challenging terrain and is strictly for advanced skiers and freeriders. However, the sunny south-facing slopes of Nätschen and the wide, rolling runs in Sedrun are perfect for families, beginners, and intermediates. Your FIL Alpin instructor will ensure you start your day on the terrain that perfectly matches your ability level.
Why is Andermatt considered a Freeride Mecca?
Andermatt receives massive amounts of snow due to its unique location at the crossroads of weather fronts. The Gemsstock offers nearly 1,500 meters of vertical drop with easily accessible off-piste terrain, such as the famous "Bernhard Russi Run" and the Guspis valley. However, this high-alpine terrain is glaciated and complex; hiring a FIL Alpin mountain guide is strongly recommended to navigate these routes safely and find the best un-tracked powder.
How are Andermatt, Sedrun, and Disentis connected?
This is one of the most unique features of the resort. The three areas are linked by a combination of modern ski lifts and the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn railway. You can ski from Andermatt over the Oberalp Pass to Sedrun. To reach Disentis, you take a short, scenic train ride (included in your ski pass) to the Cuolm da Vi cable car. This "Ski Train" experience allows you to traverse two different Swiss cantons (Uri and Graubünden) in a single day.
