Frequently Asked Questions
How do I send in my videos?
You can upload your skiing clips through the submission form or email them to videoanalysis@filalpin.com. If the files are too large for email, you can transfer them for free using swisstransfer.com.
After that, complete the secure payment for the video review (49.- CHF per session).
When will I get my analysis?
Your breakdown and personalized training plan will be delivered to you by email within 1–4 days of receiving payment.
Do my videos need to be high quality?
Not at all. Footage from a smartphone, GoPro, or compact camera works perfectly.
Do you have any tips for filming my skiing?
- Choose a slope that you feel comfortable and safe on.
- Pick a run without significant side-slope (no “double fall line”) and where the filmer can stand safely.
- Before skiing toward the camera, check that the run is clear and that no one is approaching from above or from the sides.
- Take a few practice runs on camera to relax and ski naturally.
- The ideal angle is filmed from behind while the skier is moving downhill at a controlled pace. You don’t need to exaggerate or perform—just ski normal, steady turns.
- Include at least one clean run of medium-radius turns on a groomed piste if possible.
- Footage of a specific discipline (e.g., carving, short turns) is also welcome.
How much video is required?
One continuous run—plus a few turns facing the camera—is usually enough to complete a full analysis.
Why is video analysis valuable?
Real improvement begins with understanding what you’re actually doing on snow. Seeing your movements clearly makes it much easier to make meaningful changes, whether you’re a recreational skier or a competitive athlete.
Online video feedback is not meant to replace on-snow coaching but to enhance it. With recorded footage, your progress becomes measurable, visible, and far easier to build on.
