Get comfortable navigating the slopes of Graübunden with private snowboard lessons
All on board
Experience the mountain with the freedom only snowboarding offers. Whether you seek the rapid technical progression of FIL Alpin 1:1 private coaching or the shared energy of a Private VIP Group with friends, our instruction is strictly bespoke. We reject the “one-size-fits-all” approach, focusing instead on your unique biomechanics and style to unlock the mountain—from your very first linked turns to deep-snow freeride lines.

All you need to know about lessons for adults
Can I join an open group lesson as an individual?
Currently, no. FIL Alpin specializes exclusively in Private VIP Groups, meaning you hire an instructor dedicated solely to your own party of friends, colleagues, or family. We do not place individual adults into mixed public classes to ensure the highest quality of personalized coaching.
I am a beginner. Do I need to buy a ski pass immediately?
Not necessarily. For your very first experience on snow, we often start in dedicated beginner zones or "magic carpet" areas, which are frequently free of charge or require only a specific low-cost ticket. You will only need a full resort ski pass once you are confident enough to ride the main chairlifts or gondolas. Your instructor will advise you exactly when it is time to upgrade, ensuring you don’t spend money on a pass before you are actually ready to use it.
Can I book a lesson with my partner or friend?
Yes. You can book a Private VIP Group to ride with a partner, friend, or colleague. If you have different skill levels, your instructor will manage the terrain carefully—selecting slopes where the more advanced snowboarders can find challenges while the less experienced snowboarder takes a gentler line to the same meeting point. This allows you to share the holiday experience while still receiving personal coaching.
How many hours should I book?
For the best progression, we recommend full-day or half-day sessions (3 to 6+ hours). This gives us enough time to travel to the best snow conditions, work on technique without rushing, and enjoy a relaxed lunch at a mountain hut. However, we are fully flexible and can tailor the duration to fit your wishes.
What languages do you speak?
Communication is key! Our international team ensures your private lesson is conducted fluently in the language you are most comfortable with. We proudly offer instruction in:
English, Italian, French, German, Swiss German, Dutch, Slovenian and Russian.
What is not included in the lesson price?
The lesson fee covers your professional private instruction and guiding service only. It does not include lift passes, equipment rental, or meals. However, we are happy to assist you with these logistics—whether it's recommending the best rental shops or helping you choose the right skipass—to ensure you are fully prepared before the lesson begins.
What is the best age for a child to start snowboarding?
While traditional schools often wait until age 7 or 8, private instruction allows us to start kids as young as 4 or 5. Because we provide constant 1-on-1 physical support, we can safely introduce younger children to the board without the risk of painful falls or frustration.
Can I book a lesson if the rest of my group are skiers?
For lessons (learning/teaching), no. Although we have instructors with dual certification, skiing and snowboarding mechanics are too different to teach effectively in the same session; it slows everyone down. However, for guided tours or freeride days (where everyone is advanced/expert level), we can certainly guide mixed groups of skiers and snowboarders together.
